My research journey is an exploration of the intersection between design, inclusivity, and social impact, driven by a mission to amplify the voices of underrepresented communities. Inspired by my experiences in teaching and practicing design in Afrika, I integrate designerly methodologies and humanity-centered approaches to foster meaningful, culturally responsive solutions.
Engaging in transdisciplinary research, particularly in design for sustainability and social innovation, I apply design thinking strategies to address complex societal challenges. Collaborations with diverse teams focus on healthcare, sustainable agriculture, sanitation, and support for differently abled persons.
Through participatory design and co-creation, I aim to build equitable, community-driven solutions that empower those often excluded from the design process.
Despite challenges such as building trust within communities and securing funding, projects such as Zongo: Caravans of Hope, Sanitation and Vulnerable Populations – D-HACK (ITG), and Open Design Afrika initiatives demonstrate how design can act as a catalyst for transformative social change.
